Shed FAQ
Do you build on-site?
Yes, absolutely! In fact, we strive to be the premier on-site shed builder in the 757 and surrounding area. While we serve any customer with any shed need under 256sf, we especially shine when a homeowner needs a shed built on the spot due to site constraints.
What size sheds do you build?
Our price list shows all of our option but we generally build structures from an 8x8 / 64sf shed up to any configuration under 256sf. The heights of our sheds vary by wall heights and roof styles but generally fall between 8ft to 14ft.
Do I need a permit?
In many localities, you will need a zoning permit but not a building permit. A zoning permit is intended to confirm your shed’s location in proximity to flood zones, protected areas, easements, etc., and determine if your desired location is compliant. Tidewater Sheds is happy to assist you with or entirely process your zoning application.
Can you match my home’s siding and/or color?
You bet! We offer four primary siding options:
1. LP Smartside Wood Siding (primed or painted a color of your choosing).
2. Vinyl Siding in any currently available color and profile from any of Hampton Roads premier building suppliers.
3. Hardie Board Lap Siding from James Hardie Statement Collection
4. Board and Batten Profile (painted a color of your choosing).
Do you provide a foundation?
We typically build on concrete blocks spread throughout the base of your building under our 2x6 floor frame. If preferred, we can offer to build atop skids. We also provide services for gravel bases and concrete slabs as a building foundation.
Are there hidden costs to my quote?
No, not at all! We believe in honest and transparent pricing. The only changes that you would see on your final agreement would be a potential discount for military & first responders! … And/or/if you choose to add any of our incredible shelving options to the interior of your new shed!
